Savannah Business Journal Staff Report

January 12, 2015 - Coastal Empire News (CEN), founded in 1998 in Savannah, GA, announced today that the company has expanded into Middle Georgia, launching the Dublin Business Journal at www.DublinBusinessJournal.com (DBJ), a daily business news source for the 15-counties surrounding Dublin.

The mission at the Dublin Business Journal is to publish local, regional and state business news, and link the growing business community in Middle Georgia together - crossing county lines - as well as to link our area with Coastal Georgia’s metro areas, according to Lou Phelps, publisher.

CEN has been publishing in Georgia since 1998, and Ms. Phelps has 33 year experience in the publishing business.  As a news organization, CEN is the only digital-only member invited to join the distinguished Southern Newspaper Publishers Assn.

“We went digital several years ago as our readers began to move to their laptops, tablets and smart phones, and sought news on a more timely basis,” explained Phelps. .

At DublinBusinessJournal.com, news is organized into 20 industry categories such as “Banking & Finance,” “Manufacturing,” and “Technology & Innovation.”  Under “NEWS CATEGORIES” on the main menu bar, there is a drop down menu, for readers to look at a particular area of interest, or catch up on past stories they may have missed.

Each week, the Dublin Business Journal will publish at least four feature stories of larger interest, plus Daily Breaking News stories appearing just below the photo story area on the home page.  Readers can sign up to get breaking news to their email on the home page, on the right-hand column:  "Receive Breaking BIZ News."

The Dublin Business Journal also has a Facebook page and Twitter site, to serve readers and advertisers at www.Facebook.com/DublinBusinessJournal.com and at www.Twitter.com/DBJBusinessNews.

In addition to business news, the Dublin Business Journal will follow local government and political news which affects the business community, with coverage of key City Council and County Commission meetings in the area.  On DublinBusinessJournal.com, it is easy to move between from the Dublin, Savannah and Brunswick websites to keep abreast of business happenings in a wider area.

CEN also publishes SavannahBusinessJournal.com – launched in 1998 - and the BrunswickBusinessJournal.net, as well as various editions of The Book of Lists.  To learn more about The Book of Lists, check out our website at www.GeorgiaBookofLists.com.

CEN also provides complete website development, support and social media implementation and support for local companies.

Dublin Office

CEN has have opened a Middle Georgia office in the Fred Roberts Hotel corporate offices at 306 Academy Avenue, Suite 202-B, Dublin, GA. 31021, and are proud to be a part of this innovative approach to providing incubator business space in Dublin for new and emerging businesses.

That building was originally constructed in 1926 as a project of the Dublin Chamber of Commerce and became known as the finest hotel between Macon and Savannah; it’s certainly an appropriate place for a business publication to set up shop.

DBJ’s Mission

“At the end of day, our purpose at the Dublin Business Journal is to deliver both quality journalism and new digital advertising options – to be an additional voice to the already existing, quality newspapers and radio stations in Middle Georgia.

“We also welcome your Letters to the Editor. Email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .

“Without being dramatic, we can’t help but observe that we are officially launching another news publication as the world has come together in Paris, France to stand up for the principals of journalism, and the critical need to protect free speech.

“Each of us in the news business is touched by our small, but vital role in ensuring public discussion which we believe leads to quality government, and a healthy business community,” added Phelps.
